* windows xp
* goblins quest 3
* every time i start the game, it will crash a coulple of seconds after.
*using vdm sound, latest version

is there some sort of patch available for this game? is there a way to fix it?
i might add that it worked semi-good on an older system running windows me (upgraded from windows 98 i think) though sound would not work. anyone have any ideas

Just like DOS, but with a few caveats. Read the README.

Yes, it’s my fault.

I got Goblins Quest 3 running fine with VDMSound. The Coktel Vision games just seem to not like the NT version of MSCDEX, MACDEXNT. If you use SAPUCDEX with VDMSound, it should work. In fact with SAPUCDEX, most of the Coktel Vision games seem to work even better than with Windows 9x or DOS 7.

All three goblins (CD versions) used CD Audio, much like the Loom CD did. You can hear the audio track if you stick it in an audio CD player.

That would be an interesting feat on the diskette versions of the software. 😀
