Hi everyone, first post here on Vogons (although I am using the forum for a few months already)...

Well, need some advice, I have a retro rig I use for playing some DOS and early WIN9X era games:
AMD K6-2 450mhz
128mb RAM (PC 100)
VGA Diamond Stealth 2000 S3 2MB + Voodoo2 8mb
Motherboard V72MA
20GB Hard Drive
Windows 98 booting without GUI (MSDOS 7)

For now, my dos games run fine except for Superfrog, the game has some TERRIBLE flickering... there is like a black rectangle that keeps flickering on the screen, the flickering stops when the character is in a certain height, but once you leave this "safe area" the flickering rectangle returns. It only happens during gameplay, the menus look fine and the game speed is also fine.
Does anyone know of this problem and if there is any workaround for it?

PS: I use S3 VBE drivers for VESA support on DOS, already tried removing then but the problem persists.

Thanks in advance

LO-RES, HI-FUN

Sound Blaster AWE 64 CT4500 (ISA)
32GB HDD

Have you tried UniVBE?

Sometimes NOLFB is worth a try as well.
NOLFBLIM (updated NOLFB) - Enables VSYNC for DOS Games

Or you can just buy Superfrog HD from GOG or Steam and play it on a current machine. 😉

Thanks! No I haven't tried univbe, neither NOLFB, will give it a shot and post the results.
I actually bought it from GOG but it is the DOS version, not the HD one. It works fine in dosbox but I really wanted to play it using my retro computer.
