Ok, but what about trying it in plain DOS (any DOS boot disk may do the work). If it fails under DOS 6.22, it is a bug in the BIOS. If it only crashes in XP... DirectX? Drivers?

I'm afraid not. I guessed it was some discussion about the patch for some Windows XP sys file... and I don't want to patch my system 😊

Ahhh... it seems it was not BIOS related... only crappy Microsoft Windows stuff... and it seems it is not fixed in SP2...
