When ever i play Magic carpet, the spell menu will randomly pop up quite often and at any time (makes battle impossible). I have tried both the GOG version and disk version and it happens with both of them. There seem to be some periodic graphics flicker too, but i cant tell if thats just the spell menu flashing back and forth or something else entirely. Has anyone experienced this? Cant find anything online about this problem.

Probably unrelated but only the music works; sound effects dont (its an AC97 sound card with legacy SB support that works in all other games i have tried). I am thinking about getting an ISA sound card, but if i cant stop the spell menu from popping up all the time then im not sure.

Neoware with Cyrix Media GX1 233MHz
CS5530A audio and video chip on-board
USB keyboard (bios legacy USB enabled) and PS2 mouse.

That Cyrix CPU/chipset is garbage. If you want a DOS thin client, go for the CA2. The CA2 works without any issues and has both an ISA and a PCI slot for a real soundblaster card.
