Jazz Jackrabbit CD, monitor out of range

Postby Demolition-Man » 2018-7-15 @ 15:01

Hi,
sorry for my bad english.

Nearly anything else is working, but not Jazz Jackrabbit.

I`m using a S3 Trio64V+, a 15" Videoseven TFT (max Resolution 1024x768@ 75 Hz), and DOS 6.2.

The Game starts, but than i get a out of range message from my monitor.
The music is playing, the keyboard seems to be working, except crtl + alt + del...

Do i need a CRT monitor (or a better TFT) to play this game?

Thx

Jazz uses a custom videomode. 320x200@60 IIRC. Looks like your videocard isn't compatible.
Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).

FWIW Jazz Jackrabbit uses 320x199@60HZ ingame. It's no surprise some tft monitors don't like that
Voodoo2s aren't 100mhz stock
Geforce256 isn't released as a beta on New Years '99 under the Quadro brand
386DX vs SX isn't about a missing FPU
DOS gaming isn't a bilinear 320x200 16:10
DOS PCs aren't better than the Macintosh
Old PCs aren't 'aesthetic'

Another much newer TFT works. Strange, but thx. All my 248 ;) CRT`s are broken.
