I want a blinking dosbox prompt icon in fixed position that follows me everywhere even when I scroll. And music. Every website needs music.

And the more adobe player and shockwave the better, I'd say.

My poor eyes hurt just thinking about it.
If all else fails there are Firefox plugins to take care of that. Can even make the whole internet vogons'-purple. 😀

I don't get the joke 🙁 I even looked at www.zombo.com but it's an empty page?

It needs Flash. Use https://html5zombo.com/ for a 'simulation'. Also https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/sites/zombo 🤣

The only thing I really want is buttons I can read in a font that is legible. I'm getting old and the reverse font is difficult to read, and I never could understand what the button on the top right of a thread is.
Something else I'd like to see notifications of messages without popups.
+1 for no blinding white themes, I hated them 25 years ago and I still hate them 😀
a thing that goes missing more and more in software and websites is customizability, let users choose what font they want to use, what button size they prefer, and a color scheme they want, makes everyone happy... apart from maybe people who get overwhelmed by having options ^^
The reason for that is simply that forum software these days doesn't provide that and if you add custom themes it's a lot of work each time the forum software updates. If you do a forum in your spare time without any gain then this is where you save time a lot. And this forum is such one 😉
BUT browsers have the option to override with a custom css file, so users can waste their own time to make it look like they want 😉
yeah, I totally get that ^^ I just wish the forum software would include that by default, especially the font choice gets increasingly frustrating with a lot of websites switching to headache-inducing blurry fonts often overriding the local browser settings.
It would be nice if we could upload larger photos. I know it's a retro site but that shouldn't include file size. I hate scaling down pictures when high detail is important.
The maximum number of attachments should also be increased from 5 to 10-20 so posters don't have to make another comment.

Most do. Almost every major forum engine has a page on the admin side to change the default theme and font. You can find themes online for most forum engines too. EG https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styles-2. On top of that most forum engines have a setting to let the users change the theme on their logins. Fonts can be changed on the users end in their browser settings.

You can get great quality at around 1920x1080 (or 1080 in one dimension at least) and still be under the 2MB limit.
If you need super high quality (MACRO) of a certain area of something, then just crop it.
Attached images and files add up quite quickly on a forum and I'm betting storage is not unlimited.
Yep, it is mainly a storage problem.
Vogons is advertisement free (aside from an occasional gog link), so we'd like to keep storage under control, as storage is not free.
