I have two applications:
The first one use 1024x768 16bpp without LFB (DOS overlay program, 16 bit. Using SVGA bank memory (not LFB))
The second one use 1024x768 16bpp WITH LFB (Linear frame buffer) and works in Protected Mode. Program works under DOS4GW. In Windows 9x program works very well, but under Windows XP it crased without any messages while changing video mode.

What can I do to launch my program in WinXP with LFB?
Sorry for my bad English 😀

What videocard do you have?

Newer nVIDIA cards are evil for VESA modes beyond 640x480.

Use an emulator such as DosBox. If speed is a factor anf your computer is too slow then use Qemu/Vmware/Microsoft VPC.

But DOSBox VESA support cannot go beyond 800x600 (at least for official 0.63). I think he should try a CVS version which may have improved VESA support.
