Hello fella,

The game is Super Stack by Oren Bartal (requires EMS)
If you want you can get it here, http://petesqbsite.com/reviews/action/sstack.zip

On my AMD Athlon XP2500+ [1,86 GHz - 192Mb RAM], it's really bizarre that an old QuickBasic game that I used to play on my old pentium runs that slow.

My video card is an ATI Radeon IGP 320M

I'm on Windows XP Service pack 2. I disable the sound so I don't think it's the problem.

I've tried CRTL+F12 to speed up or CTRL+F11 to slow down, without results.

Do you have an idea of why the game is running so slowly?

I've attached the game...

I don't know its original speed, but it seems to run fine for me using DOSBox 0.65 (normal core & 15000 cycles). I have an AMD Sempron 3000+ (2Ghz).

Edit your dosbox.conf file (inside DOSBox folder) and set core=dynamic and cycles=auto. That should get rid the game of almost all its speed troubles. This way, the game runs nicely.
