I've downloaded DosBox - after having tried running the game through the cd-rom. It runs, much faster and smoother without any framerate slowdown without DosBox, but it doens't detect the joystick or sound. So it's a tradeoff, get poor framespersecond on a system that should have no problem running a 90 meg game, or run it without sound or my joystick. Suggestions?
Either you have DOSBox misconfigured or the game or both.
Check joystick is enabled for DOSBox.
Check sound setup for the game.

DosBox plays the game with both the sounds and the joystick. The trouble is, it runs it with very slow frames per second, even with the speed up high and such. When I run it with simply msprompt, autoplaying through the cd, none of the sound configurations work, nor does it detect the joystick. When I'm simply flying off into space, the frames are fine - it's as if my video card is 1/16th the power it should be, whenever something is happening in front, the frames drop to about 2 or 3 per second.
