ok here is what I have done so far....

daggerfall is installed in c:\games

mount c c:\games
mount d d:\ -t cdrom -ioctl

Error I get when I try to run DF: "looks like you inserted the wrong cd. please insert your daggerfall cd in your cdrom and try again"

The CD is in the D drive, and it is of course the correct CD. WTF is goin on?

Also, I have tried to mount an ISO for the D drive instead....same problem occured.

You might want to look into the -label option for mount.

Your DosBox guide
60 seconds guide to getting your game to run in DOSBox

Does this actually work for you???

You say to make the directory c:\dosbox stuff\mygame
but I can't change the install path during installation.....

There is nothing in there about using -freesize command
so that there is room to install the game......without -freesize
the installer says there is no room available on the C:\ drive......

Either I am retarded or your guide is severely incomplete....

That's where knowledge about the mount command comes handy, right?
See the dosbox README.

It's a general guide. Some points might differ with some games of course.

I know how to use the mount command....

and I have read the ReadMe section on it several times....

The problem is trying to change the installation path WHILE the daggerfall installer is running. If you try to change the path it says "no drives available".

Why should you change it? Install it on c: (that is the game will install into
your real "C:\DOSBox stuff\MyGame" if you mounted it as in the guide).

My vote is on option 1. It is pretty retarded to imply that a poster with +1000 posts to his name can't write a working guide.

DaggerFall has issues with fast computer speeds of today and also DosBox has superior sound quality emulation.

I'm sure you mean that Daggerfall has issues with fast computer speeds of today 😉

Anyway, the CD checker thingy in Daggerfall doesn't work well in DOSBox. But that doesn't really matter since it's easy to bypass. Instead of starting "DAGGER.EXE" to play the game, write "FALL.EXE Z.CFG".
