I just dug up legend of kyrandia, the first of the series and I cannot get the digital voice to playback. I am using the latest VDMSound emulator running the game in windows XP in a dosbox. Music plays fine in MT-32 or plan old sound blaster synth, but the digital voice will not work no matter what device I try in the Kyrandia setup. Does anyone know how to solve this without having to dig up an old 486 to run this?

Digital voice? As in speech? Are you sure the version you have includes speech? That was included only in the Windows 3.1 version, AFAIK.

If you do have the CD version, you can try ScummVM.

Ok, I downloaded/installed ScummVM and cannot get Kyrandia to load into the program. I tried opening the hardrive install directory and tried off the cd-rom. I downloaded the kyra.dat file, I'm not sure how to use it, I put it in the westwood directory but ScummVM still doesn't see the game. What am I doing wrong?
