im new to dosbox. i look forward to playing some of those great games again.
firstly.. i just need to run a .bas file. how does this happen.

Aquire a copy of Qbasic and run the .bas file using that.

Not sure if there's a free version of BASIC or not but it comes with MS-DOS if that helps.

Don't ask for it here.

No problem, MS has made it available for download. Download "olddos.exe" from here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/135315
Place it in an empty folder and run it. It will extract QBASIC among others.

Ah right. We may download it, but not use it (except on Win95). Not sure how enforceable that is when it's been put up for download like this, but technically accurate. Perhaps you may also use it when you use a CD from a licensed copy of Win95 as a coaster...
