Okay I need help running kings quest 4 on my machine

Kings quests 1-3 work fine (sound too). Kings quest 4 wont work on this computer (windows ME) but will work on my laptop (windows 98SE) but with no sound.

The problem on this computer is that when you are installing and it says to select video and sound drivers, there are no choices in the list.

On my laptop the choices are there but the sound just doesn't work.

Any suggestions? I love this game, and I would love to be able to play it (with sound too:D )

It means that the installer doesn't see any compatible audio hardware.

On my laptop the choices are there but the sound just doesn't work.

Classic "can-see-it-can't-use-it" behavior.

First, try DosBox. Be sure and read the README file that comes with it. You need to understand the concept of "mounting drives". Also, adjust cycles as needed for your PC.

If your KQ4 is the AGI version, check out NAGI.

If it's the SCI version check out the Windows version of FreeSCI.

They both require a bit of setting up, but result in a game that runs properly in your Windows native environment.
