I have a 8 year old computer that only have a 655MHz CPU, 256MB SDRAM, and less than 0.5GB. Although, the hardware itself is modern, but goes very very slow by using modern OS's.

So, I figured on turning that old computer into a DOS, but I'm not sure what OS I should use that would run best for it and be able to run every DOS programs around.

Any suggestions?

DOS 7.10 gives you access to FAT32, although there is known problem with a particular Creative installer.

Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

I've given FreeDos a try out. It works and gotten most of the games to play sound via PCI driver. There are some issues of it being unstable most of the times and crashes or corrupts.

I was going to try DOS 6.22, but doesn't seem to boot up properly. Maybe I got it from the wrong place? I bet you would have to buy it from someone to get the program legally.

Makes sense.
