I am enthusiastic about finding a way to play toonstruck
on this Asus notebook with a Nvidia geforce video card...
and on an Acer notebook as well.

I did not wish to tinker so much with the previous post
about Toonstruck...

thus I tried it this way...

at the DOS prompt
mount -cd
which will tell you where your CD drives are...

I created a virtual drive... by making an iso file from the Toonstruck CD
using Poweriso or Magiciso....

mound -cd tells me where my virtual drive is located...

then

mount g G:\ -t cdrom -usecd1 -ioctl

after using mount -cd
you will be able to know what number to use ... -usecd0 or -usecd1
in my case ... 1
also mount -cd ... tells me that my virtual drive is G:

typing G:
and then dir
then running install.bat

BUT..... BUT....
before doing this
you also need to mount your hard disk as well...
at this point be very careful...
since mounting as I have done could be risky...

mount c C:\
I mounted my hard disk this way...
because after experimentation
I got very frustrated not being able to create
the \Burst\Toonstruck directory needed in order to play this game...

now that both drives are mounted...

then run install.bat

and even though I have a Nvidia GeforceGo 7300 video card
it flashed numerous times
and I was about ready to bail out...
being nervous about this situation
then it selected the original supervga resolution
that comes with the game...

and the colors and resolution are good.....

on the Acer notebook I selected Sound Blaster
and accepted the other parameters as well....

then after finishing my installation of Toonstruck
I could play it as I did many years ago...
no lag or sound problems that I noticed...

On my Asus notebook I did not need to have sound
but it surprised me by using the entire screen....
whereas the Acer ran in a Dosbox window....

Fantastic Kudos and Grateful Appreciation to the Dosbox team!!!
I also have been able to use Dosbox frontend
to play Gobliins and others as well...
on very new desktop PCs....

I use these PC games in my English classes for Chinese students...
