Is there any way to achieve "real" (not NoLFB) Vesa 2.0 support for Dos-Games under WinXP?

It's mostly dependent on the video card you have. Some support all the SuperVGA VESA modes; others you need NoLFB just to get 640x480. It seems really quite random, we're not completely sure why it works the way it does.
Yes, it’s my fault.
I think what's being asked is whether or not there is some way that linear framebuffer support could be achieved when running DOS programs in the NTVDM of WinXP.
