I lent my original copy of GTA1 to a friend years ago who has since lost it
So a few months ago I decided to get it again through steam buying the rockstar collection

however it only includes the windows executables but not the DOS ones which include the 3dfx version

I've been looking all over the internet for them and all I've found so far is a 3dfx demo and an ISO image with the install files which don't work

can anyone upload a copy of them?

SSDs: 2x Crucial MX500 1TB SATA + 1x Samsung 980 (non-pro) 1TB NVMe SSD
OSs: Win 11 Pro (NVMe) + WinXP Pro SP3 (SATA)
GPU: RTX2070 (11) GT730 (XP)

That is so not helpful. If you won't explain why they "don't work", what reason is there to assume that a copy uploaded by someone would work?

Also, why do you want the 3DFX DOS version anyway?

And have you tried the version that Rockstar provides for free on their own website? I don't think it's the DOS version either, but if for some reason you're not happy with what Steam provides, perhaps it is what you're looking for.

the setup.exe on both the gta.iso file i found on torrent and the one off the rockstar website just does nothing when I double click on it

I'm after the gtados directory anyway, which the steam version doesn't have

I'm after the 3dfx version because I think it looks better

not if you own the disc hahaha 😀)))) but it's not worth the trouble if you have a system like that. The 3dfx version was made just for extra speed on Pentiums since 24-bit color performance was generally poor in 1997

Notice that you have a 64-bit OS and you won't be able to run 3dfx version unless you use a Glide-enhanced SVN build of DosBox. DOS version will run on DosBox official build, though.
