I've recently found an old copy of Ultima 7 and tried to get it working. After much enduring, I got a patch and a U7WIN9X (A set of files that allow U7 to be run in Windows)... and was able to get it working by running the U7DPMI file with VDMS (DosBox didn't work, unfortunately). Only this one works, as the others go on about memory problems (even though I've set their Properties>Memory to Auto, surely giving them enough...).

The game, along with sound, works, but:
-It's quite slow. I'm not sure if it's just the intro, but I can't skip past text (I can when Iolo starts talking to me though).
-Once the intro is done and I gain control, there's a weird noise and nothing happens. The music and sound plays for a bit, and then nothing.

I'll experiment later without sound - but any ideas for now are, naturally, appreciated. 😀
