Hi,

In the another thread, I've been trying to make Doom/Doom2/Strife music work through a SC-55 connected to an AWE64 gold. I've given up on that.

Now I've purchased a roland MPU-401 isa *clone* card on ebay and connected the SC-55 to it. So far, to make the MPU card work, I've removed the 330 port on the AWE in the CTCM/CTCU software. Midi seems to work in all (DOS) games now. The trouble is, that now the AWE64 plays no sound at all, and there seems to be no IRQ conflict in the system.

The AWE is set to 220H, IRQ 5, DMA1, the MPU at 330H, IRQ 2/9 (fixed).

Does anyone have any idea on how to setup these two cards to work together?

The machine specs:

Pentium-S 133,
P5V580 VP3 motherboard,
Diamond Stealth 64,
Sound Blaster AWE 64 Gold
MPU 401 ISA INTERFACE CARD MIF IPC CLONE (the one selling cheap on ebay)
IDE-CF adapter with 4GB CF drive

Running DOS 6.22

Don't remove the port 330 but change it to 300.

Wow, now that I haven't tried before – it works. Thanks!

It does? Awesome 😀 I also use a MPU401 card together with an AWE64 with MIDI at 300 🤣

This should be moved to the hardware forum as this is not about any DOS games.
