Hello, I’m trying to setup my old laptop for dos. Original dos, not dosbox. But I faced a problem that on widescreen monitor, dos doesn’t follow aspect ratio and old games look stretched:
Duke Nukem under MS-DOS:
and under DosBox
Since it’s laptop, I cant change settings via monitor menus. Maybe there is another solution?
And is there any, in the internet, a good english speaking forum for discussing old hardware?
I don't think there is much you can do.
There might be a setting in BIOS if you want the screen to be centered or stretced.

Nope
I've tried it on three laptops, and had the same final unfixable problem - I think one laptop had the BIOS setting (or just worked) to keep the aspect ratio with black bars (actually, black bar on right, screen up against left side of window), all the rest just stretched them across the screen and nothing could be done about it. As I recall, one older Toshiba worked, one newer Toshiba failed, and one Dell failed.
