I play The Need for Speed Special Edition using DOSBox SVN Daum (http://ykhwong.x-y.net/) on my Windows 10 laptop. The game runs fine, except for one problem: it crashes at the end of a race, after the stats are displayed. If I play a point to point track, it doesn't happen between the segments, only at the very end of the race, when it should return to the main menu. There is no error message displayed, it simply shuts down DOSBox completely.

Can anyone help me with this?

Well, my first suggestion would be - test it in a plain DOSBOX 0.74 build first, to determine if it's a problem with the game or the emulator. Latest Daum builds have been getting quite a lot of bad press due to bloat and instability.

I can tell you that my NFSSE works fine in DOSBOX, so it's definitely possible in principle.

OK, I've tested the game, and it indeed works with the standard DOSBox. It also works in Daum if I run it in window.

The problem with regular DOSBox is that I want to play the game using my Xbox 360 controller and I can't map the triggers to joystick axes. They simply don't work. In Daum I don't have such problem. So what should I do now? 😀

So, if the Daum version runs fine in a Windows, it might be the video output. Try using a different output in DOS Box config file.
