Post-running results != displaying framerate

I got the info from this video.
The method posted by @noshutdown doesn't work for me. There is no white dot whatsoever, just some black grids.

Constantly looking for the driver for Acer Magic v1 MPEG decoding card.

Yes, I did exactly that, but no white dot only the black grids there.

in devparm mode, you can also press f1(used to be help screen) to capture a screenshot in pcx format.
if you look more closely at the buttom left, you should be able to find out that there is only 1 white dot with all other dots being black because doom is running at optimum speed(35fps). if you are running on a 386 or low end 486 machine and the game is slowed down, more black dots would turn white.

For Doom I Timedemo:
Start Doom with:

doom.exe -nosound -timedemo demo1

Replace demo1 with demo2 or demo3 for different timedemos.
It will give you a gametic number and a realtic number.

FPS = gametics / realtics * 35

Or use doomfps
