I am trying to run Star Trek 25th anniversary on Win2k pro. At first I was getting an EMS problem as most people would with an old game on a new system, so I have adjusted the EMS, but now I launch the .exe file, and the screen goes black for a few seconds, then closes and sends me back to windows with a message box that reads:

STARTREK.EXE
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:0000 IP:0077 OP: f0 37 05 0e 02 Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

I then have a choice of closing or ignoring it. if I ignore the black screen comes up and it just stay there for a few seconds... and obviously close closes it off...

Anyone got any idea what this means?

Hmmm, Did you use the setup program for the game?

Last time I tried it the game worked with sound for me in 2K...

Also did you try the game without sound to verify that it worked?

I own the game, and it never worked right for me in Windows 9x either. I'll have a look, then, to see if I can confirm...
