Hi,

I need a simple Serial terminal like PuTTY that will be able to run under MS-DOS 6.22. I searched on Google, but with no luck.
Hope someone can help me with this.

On the same topic, do you know any terminal that can run under modern Windows and can be made fullscreen but keeping the 80x25 characters font?

Thanks!

For DOS, you might consider Kermit:

You can generally set the number of rows and columns in most any modern terminal program, including PuTTY. In PuTTY, go to the PuTTY Configuration screen, click Window under Category, select your number of rows and columns, and then under "When window is resized," choose "Change the size of the font."

Kermit is probably the best thing to use. It can emulate pretty much any terminal type on the planet. If you need to perform file transfers, Kermit protocol should offer better performance than ZModem, but you might need another tool in case others insist on using something else.

Thank you, I'll gie kermit a try and try to set PuTTY as you said.

I thought that Marvin is only for old hardware, not software.

No, there are several subforums under Marvin, including "Software". Read the description.

Software
Getting old software/games running on older hardware.

Qbix created the extra Marvin subforums specifically for the retro gear crowd. Remember the original intent of VOGONS (Very Old Games On New Systems). Retro gear is an after thought, but has been provided for with its own set of subforums.

I'm not sure exactly what you need, but any old standard DOS communications program should be fine, and there were piles of those. Terminate was hugely popular once.

Also have a look at the Windows 1.x/2.x terminal program. It's quite simple, yet doesn't require any modem.
It was also intended for computer-computer connections..

Another good program is telemate, for example.
