ripsaw8080 can anything be done to Pył's mouse behaviour.
It doesn't move when you move mouse slowly. vertical is more affected.

----------------
by the way, mouse doesn't go crazy when using ctmouse 2.0
this mostly affects qemu, but i think also real computers.

That kind of thing is usually the game code dividing the mouse motion counters in order to compensate for sensitivity/acceleration. In DOSBox it can often be countered by increasing sensitivity; in real mouse drivers it can be countered by increasing acceleration (CuteMouse does use some acceleration by default); in the game itself there may be some setting that can be changed, but if not then the game code can possibly be hacked to eliminate motion counter dividing.

Did you try playing Pyl under Win98 DOS box? The Win98 setup should use bare CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT such that no 16-bit drivers are loaded for mouse and CD-ROM. The Win98 DOS box leverages the protected-mode mouse and CD-ROM drivers and last I remember the mouse behaved a lot better than real DOS in QEMU with CuteMouse v2.0.

But then, you will lose out the speed of HAXM over WHPX...

same behaviour in win98 (safe mode) without mouse driver in autoexec.bat

I think this may be a game feature of enhancing horizontal movement (to make it like keyboard controlled doom).
But doom had no headshots...
