Hi,

I have a problem with the floppy version of the DOS X-Wing game. Sometimes during play, the game freezes and I have to press ALT-CTRL-DEL to get out of DOSBox with the game information lost. This happes often, about 40% of the time.

Everytime it freezes, the message in the DOS Box window says the following:
SDL LOCK failed.

This happens in both 0.61 and 0.62 versions of DOSBox. I am running a 2.60 GHz computer with a USB joystick. Please help me.

Actually VDMSound is not DOS emulator, it is sound emulation program with joystick support and other nice features. This is my primary program for playing DOS games under Windows XP. First, I always check if a game is able to run with VDMSound (with different settings), if it's not (rare cases) - then I use DOSBox.

Important thing: if you download and install it, run setup program of X-Wing (setsound.exe or something like that) with VDMSound, and then run the game with VDMSound. You'll find detailed instructions in VDMSound section of this forum.

Good luck and enjoy!
