For one, it's the first port to properly implement widescreen support (AFAIK), if you don't count Redux that is, and, well, the other ports (mostly being SWP) are pretty outdated and broken in some places.

Shadow Warrior is also supported in Raze, which is based on EDuke32 code but moves at its own pace.
