I am using an old dos shell called point and shoot by varteck to load my programs, but I find that after the program exits not all of the conventional memory is returned to the system. I have tried the same programs without the shell and I have no memory problems. Does anybody know of a way to stop the shell from eating up all of my conventional memory?

Sorry - don't know anything about that Point & Shoot shell.

In a different thread about adding a simple program launcher to DOSBox, Qbix recommended this little menu system:

Perhaps you can use that instead??
