Hi I downloaded discworld 2 from home of the underdogs and when i try to load it in either xp,vdmsound,or with dosbox i get an error saying "drive not ready error reading drive G" can somebody please tell me how to fix this problem. I have tried all the solutions given in the forum but nothing has worked.Please help me.

We need to know the exact commands you typed. Read the Posting Guidelines. Also, SEARCHING is your friend. There are already several posts regarding DiscWorld 2.

i didnt type any commands ive always just loaded the main exe or bat of a game into either vmdsound or dosbox and its automatically loaded.but this time im getting that error please tell me what im doing wrong im extremely new to dos and have no understanding of how to run the games or using commands.

Did you mounted a drive G in DOSBox (-type cdrom)?

Create a directory for your game, e.g. "C:\DOSBox stuff\DW2".
Start DOSBox.
In DOSBox, mount up DOSBox's drive C: and D:

Z:>mount C "C:\DOSBox stuff\DW2"
Z:>mount D "C:\DOSBox stuff\Pirated stuff\DW2 download" -t cdrom
Install the game from D: to C:

Z:>D:
D:>install

(or setup, or whatever the installation program is called)
Configure sound, configure graphics, ...

(when you configure sound and are asked about stuff like IO/IRQ/DMA/High DMA addresses, please verify that you use the same values as listed in "C:\Programs\DOSBox\dosbox.conf")
Start game.
