HI.
This is actually a problem that I noticed on many DOS-games ran under Windows, but it's only a few days I discovered this great Site and all these supporting applications you are promoting.

I'll rise the problem with a well-known game, Budokan from EA Games - I think (1989). It has digital music, that works fine with VDMS, but the game sounds can only be played by PC-Speaker (I think this is a game limitation). Problem is that under Windwos, the sounds are very slow and distortioned, and when a sound must play, the game slows down allmost completely.

I had this problem both on a Win98 P233mmx and a WinXP P4 1,4 Ghz. VMDSound doesn't seem to cope with this problem.

So, any thoughts ?

p.s. For Vlad : "Sarbatori Fericite de la un conational de-al tau !";)

Still dreaming of good ol' times...

Try Dosbox http://sourceforge.net/projects/dosbox/ (Doesn't work with protected mode games)

This happens in everything that isn't pure DOS. REALSound is a REALly Bad Hack. It sounds like, from 1991, that it should run fine in DOSBox. If not, let us know and we'll try to find and fix the problem.

Yes, it’s my fault.
