Hello,
I am trying to find an awesome MS-DOS shell that I used to use in the late 80's.

It was called "Still River Shell"...I believe it was written by someone who lived in Still River Massachusetts.

I think it was SR.COM or SR.EXE to start it and it had tons of awesome file and directory tools.

I appreciate any help I can get finding this gem.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi there! I've found a Still River Shell v2.36 while searching for "Still River Shell"+DOS 2.11.

it seems to be part of this shareware CD-ROM:

You can use WinImage to open the image or mount it in Windows using MagicISO.

DOSBox can also mount it, perhaps.

Alternatively, you can look for SRS236.ARC directly.
The SIMTEL FTPs have it, likely.

Here's one, haven't tested it, however (I am typing on a mobile device right now):

http://cd.textfiles.com/simtel/simtel9211/msd … sutl/srs236.arc

Be ware, ARC is an ancient CP/M era file format. It was used in DOS 2.x days mainly, before LHA/LZH and ZIP became popular.
Some of its compression formats are nolonger being recognized by modern ZIP programs.
Better use ARC.COM/ARC.EXE on DOS, maybe in DOSBox..
