Greetings

I am trying to run an old game "Across The Rhine" using latest version of pcem but I'm having a memory related problem. See picture ...
Is there a way to fix this, please bear in mind that I am not well knowledgeable in dos, but I feel I can handle it with a good explanation.
Also if the cd -rom is not detected, can it be fixed?

I will appreciate all the help. Thanks in advance and have a good one!

Please type on DOS prompt and send the result (all pages or the file memory.txt):
mem /c /p
- or -
mem /c > memory.txt

And, perhaps you have to burn the game on a CDROM. I recommend to use a CDRW (rewritable) for that.

He said he's using PCem.

Put this stuff in your config.sys (if it's not already there) and reboot:

DEVICE=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS /TESTMEM:OFF device=c:\dos\emm386.exe ram DOS=HIGH,UMB FILESHIGH=80 BUFFERSHIGH […]

DEVICE=C:\DOS\SETVER.EXE
DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS /TESTMEM:OFF
device=c:\dos\emm386.exe ram
DOS=HIGH,UMB
FILESHIGH=80
BUFFERSHIGH=30

You'll also need to install a DOS CD-ROM driver, a few can be found in the vogons driver archive, any one of them should work. And make sure the PCem CD drive is detected in BIOS.
I was able to install this game in PCem without trouble, albeit on a Pentium system.

I agree with the others, but maybe the game makes a reference to DPMI or VCPI memory here.
EMM386 is a bit limited here, but QEMM has good support for both.
