The copy of Wing commander I have currently is the GOG version. I'm wondering if it has everything I would need to play it on my native DOS machine (currently a PII 333 running at 500mhz. I'm disabling L1 cache for WC to get a proper speed). I have an AWE64 Value installed for sound, but I don't see any install program for configuring anything. Does the GOG version have a way of configuring the game or should I look to other places to get a version that will run on DOS?

It should work "out of the box" if you just want OPL FM sound/music. If you want MT-32 or something else you can edit WINGCMDR.CFG manually - I notice Phil (of Phil's Computer Lab) actually posted a guide to the options on the GOG forums here for that.
