A question to Norton Commander experts.

We all know it was possible to create User Menu and run programs from the list, but I remember someone created menu with item Compress selected file
I did read help from NC but I couldn't find, how to retrieve variable name of selected file from the current NC file list view.
I thought it would be just
compress.exe %1

but it didn't work.
Any ideas or knowledge what to write as a parameter?

I tried that in many configurations already, nothing works. I saw that in help. Maybe I'm still doing something wrong?
My NC version is 5.51

Looks like this trick only works for files extensions.

Oops... indeed, it only works for "Extension file".
I'm afraid it's impossible for "Menu file".

Have you considered changing your file manager to Dos Navigator? It supports several different archivers out-of-the-box.

1) VLSI SCAMP /286@20 /4M /CL-GD5422 /CMI8330
2) i420EX /486DX33 /16M /TGUI9440 /GUS+ALS100+MT32PI
3) i430FX /K6-2@400 /64M /Rage Pro PCI /ES1370+YMF718
4) i440BX /P!!!750 /256M /MX440 /SBLive!

It's maybe not very helpful maybe, but I remember that Star Commander could handle ZIP/LHA archives.
Maybe it can be configured accordingly, too.
