I have correctly installed the Matrox Millennium G450 video card, Windows 98 sees it correctly, but there is a problem.
There is the yellow trinagolino in peripheral management.
I went to see in the settings and it said:
Unable to find free input / output (I / O) range resources to use (code 12)

Then it says:
You need to disable the device that is using the required resources. To do this, click Hardware Troubleshooter and follow the instructions.

I tried but nothing. The Matrox Millennium G450 conflicts with the integrated video card. I have disabled it, but the problem persists.
If I delete the drivers, then it reinstalls the card automatically. How do I tell windows 98 to ignore the integrated video card and only use the Matrox Millennium G450?

I wanted to give it a try. I made a video.
I manually changed the settings of the S3 Trio video card from the "Resources"; "Memory range". Once done, No Conflict appears in the Conflicting Device List.
However, the problem remains.
But if I try to do the same operation with the Matrox, the message will appear that I cannot modify the resource manually. I do not understand why.
Yet the S3 Trio does not give any conflict but the MAtrox continues to give various conflicts listed.

In the General Properties of the S3 Trio, it says the card is working fine, but the problem lies with the main video card.
But I do not understand this problem does not occur with the matrox mystique 220 video card .... I do not understand ....

Check if there's a on option in the BIOS to disable the integrated graphics card.

If not, check the manual of your motherboard and see if there's a jumper that can disable it.

PC#1: Pentium MMX 166 / Soyo SY-5BT / S3 Trio64V+ / Voodoo1 / YMF719 / AWE64 Gold / SC-155
PC#2: AthlonXP 2100+ / ECS K7VTA3 / Voodoo3 / Audigy2 / Vortex2

No, I can't do anything on the bios. The manuals I have say nothing. I found this but I can't find anything ... I'm not very experienced.

The only thing I found is this schematic under the PC case:

Perhaps installing the Matrox card into a different PCI slot will help - some cards have difficulty sharing resources (IRQs, etc.) The BIOS might be forcing the G450 slot to share one or more resources with the integrated S3.

Otherwise, try this:

Reboot and before Windows 98 loads, press F8 to go into safe mode.
While in safe mode, go to device manager.
Expand the display section, you will see every display ever installed. Remove all of them.
Reboot.
When prompted for the S3 video card, cancel driver installation
When prompted for the G450, install as usual.
Reboot.

What happens now?

I have tried on all three PCI slots. The problem remains.
I disconnected the sound card and USB card, leaving only the Matrox and the problem remains.
As for the hint, this is not possible. It does not allow me to cancel the installation of the integrated video card. Automatically installs it.

You went into safe mode to remove the S3 card and the same result happened?

Ok, there are, but I didn't understand what I should change ...

I go to "Properties" and then "Resources". I don't see any conflicts.
Do I have to manually change the settings, "input / output range" and "memory range"?

the s3 is integrated on your motherboard. you cant have another vga card installed. they conflict in bios and memory ranges, you cant change this. unless you have a jumper to disable the s3 on the motherboard (I didnt see one when I looked), your kinda stuck.

Is it normal that CPU-Z says I have a Matrox G400 AGP video card?

I downloaded VERSION 1.03 VINTAGE VERSION from the official website
I also have an old version 1.57 for windows 98 from 2011. BUT this doesn't see any graphics card installed.

Leave the resources alone. Change the driver for the S3 card. Click "Change Driver" on the "General" tab. Update the driver manually to Standard VGA Adapter. Reboot, then disable in Device Manager. Reboot once more.

What happens then?

The card is based on the same architecture as the G400 with some changes.

However, try using HWINFO:
https://www.hwinfo.com/

Or try Powerstrip:

I tried HWINFO this is what it finds:
IMG-20220901-212356.jpg
IMG-20220901-212408.jpg
IMG-20220901-212423.jpg
IMG-20220901-212528.jpg
IMG-20220901-212746.jpg
PowerStrip instead, when I start it from error:

The primary graphics adapter is not configured correctly. To avoid problems, the execution of the program will be terminated.

If instead of canceling I do ok, it appears:

New hardware detected - a new bus1 graphics adapter, device 0, function 0 has been detected and the current settings have been registered as default for the current adapter.
IMPORTANT! If the current settings are not the default settings for the adapter, Cancel the operation to restore the default hardware settings, then load the program again.

What do I do, continue or cancel?

I tried to continue, but the program closes, it doesn't work.

Powerstrip it seems, doesn't like the 2 adapters installed at once when they are conflicting with each other. But you need don't Powerstrip now since HWINFO is reporting the G450.

YES, but it is a pity that the problem remains. Is there no way to completely disable this damn integrated card or have it ignored by windows?

Did you see my post about installing the Standard PCI Adapter?
