Hi there,
I have just started using dos box and I having slight difficulty getting dosbox to start one of my games. The game is
"Toca Touring Cars 1" and I have tried other games and they work so I dont think I am typing in something wrong.

when I type in setup.exe into dosbox I get "This program cannot be run in DOS mode". I have spent hours trying find out what is wrong but there is nothing on so it seems.

I am running vista and use dosbox 0.72

Thanks in advance
\Greg

Look at the requirements. Does it say Windows?

DOSBox runs DOS programs. Unless you configured DOSBox in a certain way to load Windows 95 with, it doesn't run Windows programs.

I don't see how a Win95 game can become "DOS format". Try running it in Windows with compatibility mode.
If you have a copy of an older Windows you could try Virtual PC too.

ok i am clearly out of my depth. I pmed you with the link of where I downloaded it. I checked the site again and I realise that system it is for is MSDOS which I expect means its in DOS format.

oh and i also have tryed compatibilty mode and I got a little bit further then it got an error too

Sure this game works. Just not in a DOS emulator.

Adds new meaning the term RTFM, doesn't it?

Besides, this is a pirated copy of the game, which won't bring you much love on VOGONS. Goodbye & have a nice day.

You could send a bug report to microsoft, or try some virtualizer along with a win9x installation.
