Risk 2 from hasbro hangs at the loading screen. I tried it all with the compatibility settings
It seems you need a particular video codec, which is required to play the opening video.

What's really unforgivable is that Reflexive is selling this game through their online shop...sans video codec.
I have the Reflexive Entertainment copy of the game so I just need the video codec to get the game going. Pretty odd to not include a file that the game requires.
IIRC, indeo was included with older versions of windows but removed as of XP SP1:

Beginning with the 2002 update to Windows XP (known as Service Pack 1), Microsoft suspended distribution of the Indeo codecs as a base part of its operating system. This is also true of the recently released Windows Vista operating system. However, a number of older game and multimedia titles require Indeo to be installed on the OS in order to function.
So not odd at all. Just usual business of quietly breaking compatibility with older games over time.
By the way, am I the only one who notices that abyss starts using proper capitalization and punctuation in this post? 😉
