V2000 is a game made in 1998 by Frontier Developments, which is supposed to have both a software rendering mode and a Direct3D rendering mode. However, I seem to be unable to switch from software mode to Direct3D mode. If I select "Direct3D" from the in-game graphics menu, the scene does not change one bit (there is NO bilinear filtering at all, even when it's been activated from the menu, because the software mode doesn't support it), and indeed, if I quit the game and launch it again, the rendering mode in the graphics menu has been set to software again (or better, it has been set to software all along).
I discovered that the only way I can change the game resolution is to edit a registry item (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Frontier Developments Ltd\V2000\1.0\"Resolution"), so 1 is 640x480, 2 is 800x600 and so on. A "Renderer" item is also present, so I tried to change its value too (I tried numbers from 0 to 5) but, from the graphics menu, I see that the renderer is always set to software. So, how DO I proceed to change the renderer to Direct3D?
