Hi everybody !
I have Police Quest 4 as part of Police Quest Collection cd (with voiceover & Windows support) . After a time ,when trying look or talk game gives me an errors :
1)Window with title "WaveOutUnprepareHeader1" and message is : "incorrect parameter transmitted to a system function" .
2)Window with title "wave out close" and message is : "Specified incorrect descriptor of device " .
Any suggestion how to fix it ?
I running game in 256 colors mode ,my PC : Celeron 1.7Ghz\256 Mb Ram\Radeon 9500 128Mb\c-media ac 97\Win Xp sp1 .

I'm not sure how to fix that, but I can tell you that WaveOut means you're having (non-DirectSound) sound related issues, most likely due to the fact that the game was designed to run on an older version of Windows. You might try running with Win95 compatability mode and/or installing the Application Compatability Toolkit from Microsoft's site and/or look for some official and unofficial patches for the game.

You get this same error in XP with th Windows version of QfG4, too. You only get it with the Windows version. Try the DOS version with DOSBox or VDMS.
