I have Windows 7 and nowhere in that app you mention did I find the CDDA volume (not that I would need to, really, since I already have a mixer) so, no fix for me that way...I hope your fix or mine help someone else.
Tested with Win7 64-bit.
Don't have the troubles with the sound in the game. "No music" is Xp only, so - the fix is for the Xp.

I know that this thread is old but I have to say that I have fixed unfortunately with the inmm application like BloodBat, this game didin't want to load cdda (cd audio data track) at all by his own.
no problem anyway with sound FX the work perfectly.
game is original French language version.
I have done a test with a uk language ripped copy downloaded from internet too without cdda and also that didin't load cdda from original cd
but due the nature of the nocd it can be that don't load the music from cd.
I have windows 7 (all update at today) @ 64 bit.
so the fix (also if I don't like it because is a workaround with a third party software) is for windows 7 x64 at least too not only for XP.
I'm here if someone have better fix for old games that doesn't load cdda from cd.
