My buddy was cleaning house and gave me this cd rom called "Braindead 13" looks halfway decent so I asked if I could borrow it, he said I could have it cause it won't even run.

My system is:
CPU speed = Intel 1.1 Ghz
RAM 256 MB
Video Nvidia GeForce MX 4000 128 MB
Sound Max Digital Audio
OS WinXP SP2

When I insert the disk autoplay runs and a box asks do you want to play Braindead 13? Yes Program shuts down.
At a XP Dos it says "program too big to fit in memory"
DOSBOX - replies program runs in windows 32 etc..

I am using DOSBOX 0.65 but I really think this game is supported by Windows?? I have no box or manual just a disk with cool artwork by a company Readysoft. If I can't get this working maybe it will look cooler as a coffee coaster. 😎

Executables include:

32RTM.EXE
AUTOPLAY.EXE
BD13.EXE
BDWIN.EXE
DOS4GW.EXE
SETUP.EXE

DOS4GW? It seems like a typical case of "hybrid" game. Probably an ms-dos game (386 protected mode) with a Windows installation. Try inspecting all executables at close range.

MOBYGAMES lists both an ms-dos and a Windows version.

Intel i7 5960X
Gigabye GA-X99-Gaming 5

8 GB GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (Gigabyte)

Gee Thanks,

32RTM will run under xp "fake dos" says it's a Borland Internation Resident version 1.5 (c) 1992-1994

bd13 responds "Program too big to fit into memory" is there a way to expand the bogus memory?

DOSBOX 0.65 just exits (or crashes) when I attempt to run BD13.EXE and SETUP.EXE I read the DOSBOX webpage that this game is compatible with DOSBOX but fails to tell how to configure it to run.

I tried VDMS and no luck there either. It crashes too.
