Unfortunately, this game is Windows only, so I can't use DOSBOX. It starts fine but the voice stutters and never finishes his sentence. I cannot get by the intro scene.
I have XP and tried the compatibility modes but they do not work.
Any help is appreciated.
Just a wild guess here, but do you have an NVidia card?
I recall I had similar problems with SepterraCore and they only went away when I switched to an ATI card (or ran the game in a window).
Actually, my old computer does have NVidia and works fine. My new one has an Intel integrated, but the game doesn't use a graphics card that I recall. It seems to be sound related as the game begins stuttering and locking up.
It "doesn't use a graphics card"? It does use DirectX, doesn't it?
My problem with SepterraCore seemed to be sound-related too, but running it in a window solved the problem... I suppose you could give the KX Project drivers a whirl if you have the appropriate sound card.
