There is a patch for Assault Rigs, enabling DirectX-functionality to the game. Unfortunatelly this is bound to old ATI Graphicboards. I guess the "rage"-chip. When starting I get an error saying "ati3dcif.dll is missing". Is there a trick to get this game run on an actual PC.

Yes, the file is named arigs.exe and it's size is 680 KB (696.832 Bytes). Size on drive is 684 KB (700.416 Bytes). So this could be the same file. Fileversion is 1.0.0.3. Description is "Assault Rigs for 3D Rage Game Program". Timestamp is 7. February 1997, 07:02:02.

yes that patch is for the ati version so that it runs on cyrix cpu's
do you have a cyrix cpu ? if not the patch is no good to you
as for a wrapper there isnt one ati abandoned 3dcif very quickly and swithed to d3d

I don't have a cyrix. So I should not use this patch. In case I would use an old ATI Rage, where to get the ATI-Patch? On my CD there only is a version for DOS.

as i understand it there were 2 versions
the normal version
and a ati enhanced version which only came with ati cards
there was no patch to turn the normal version into the ati version
I could be wrong but i doubt it
