I followed this guide:

Discworld 2 in XP using DosBox

and this screenshot is what I did:

(Click to get it bigger)

HELP NEEDED:

When I click on the dosbox.exe (I assume it's the program itself right? The brown dosbox icon?) nothing happens! A black screen comes up and just goes away again. Have I copied the files correctly? Or not?

Please help!

If it helps, I have two bin files (Dw1.bin and Dw2.bin) and also two cue files as well. I used ultraISO to rip the Dw2 discs.

Many thanks in advance,

Franklinsteiner

My guess is that DOSBox tries to read the file DOSBox.conf but don't realize that it is a short-cut. And then it simply dies because it gets confused.

Nope - that is not it. Just tested that.

What do you have in that configuration file?

Have you tried creating a CMD-window and start DOSBox from the prompt? Maybe with the -noconsole option?

And remove that 'exit' from the autoexec section of DOSBox.conf.

Well I don't have a dw2.bat exactly. I thought that perhaps dw2.bat who stand for batch so I used my dw2 ms dos batch file instead.

I wasn't lying, just didn't think it was nessacary.

Are you still having problems with this, or did you sort it out?

Normally I wouldn't bump a week-old topic, but since it's my guide you're following, I'd just like to make sure everyone who uses it gets the game working properly.

EDIT: For anyone curious, he did get it fixed in the end. Huzzah!
