Since the Soundblaster 16 I have in my Pentium Pro box is non PnP I had to install the driver in Win98SE by the "add hardware" method and chose the general Soundblaster 16 or AWE32 driver but it doesn't install any drivers for the gameport for my SB16

Anyone have any tips on how to do it?

The driver for the gameport can also be installed through the "Add Hardware" dialog:
Choose either the "Creative Gameport Joystick" or the "Gameport Joystick" driver from Microsoft, both are available in the "Audio-, Video-, and Gamecontroller" section (maybe the sections and drivers are labeled a bit different, I have the german version of Win98SE).

I tried the standard MS gameport driver but it just says my joypad isn't connected when I open the joystick stuff in the windows control panel

I'm using the same joystick driver as I used on a PnP SB16 I have in another PC

Managed to get the creative gameport driver by installing the SB16 driver update but can't choose creative gameport in "gaming options" in the control panel...it's just "standard gameport" there

Hmmm... Is the gameport enabled via jumper on the card? Are there other gameports installed in the system (e.g.: on other soundcards) which might conflict with the one on the SB16?
