I made a mess of a repair installation of XP Home, and managed to install a new, parallel copy of XP in a different folder on the same partition. What I meant to do was do a repair install of course.
Now I have a perfect installation (in Windows2) and a broken one, in c:\windows. Of course, all my software is registered to the old, faulty setup ! It would be a daunting task to reinstall all my software; can anyone think of a simple way to fix the old XP installation ? I wondered whether I could run a repair install of the old setup (as I should have done), then just delete the new one.
Alternatively, how can I point the software I need (Office Pro and a whole load of other stuff) to my shiny new XP installation.
Any thoughts ?
