I'm using the retail DVD version, and I've tried it on the following hardware -

2 mobos (Athlon T-Bird & Intel 440BX)
2 soundcards (Yamaha pci & Creative AudioPCI)
Several graphics cards (voodoo3 agp, vision968 pci, matrox g450 agp)
Windows 95 and Windows 98 HDDs
Enabled and disabled the Intel 3D sound system that comes with the game

Anyway, I start off inside Tex's office. If I open the bedroom door and walk inside, 8 times out of 10 the game freezes. Reboot time. Sometimes the game freezes inside Tex's office. I can usually get the game to freeze within 30 seconds of playing.

As far as I'm aware, there's nothing wrong with the hardware components that I'm using. I use them all the time to test out various stuff.

Any ideas please people? 😀

Thanks! I just DL'd the 1.04 patch and installed it. I notice it gives a lot more MPEG options. I don't have one installed, and using the standard decoder doesn't work. I'm still getting a lock up within 30 seconds of playing the game. There must be something in the game's config section that's causing the problem. I'll keep messing about with it...

I think I've fixed it. I DL'd DVDExpress and installed it. Then, inside the game's config section, I set the VR renderer to hardware. I think that's fixed the problem. I can now walk round and round in circles inside Tex's office, and the game doesn't freeze.
