Has anyone managed to get this one running?

Despite the comment on the CD that this game works in both DOS & Windows 95, Interactive Magic's 1997 Great Battles of Alexander only seems to work under Windows. GBoCaesar, third in the series, installs & runs fine under Windows 7 x64, and by copying the installation (simple - copy the main EXE to the install directory, and the whole DATA directory to the same location, then copy the Registry entry as Caesar) I got GBoHannibal to run. But the earlier Alexander won't play. By copying Caesar, I get the strange error

Error in ../INTRANET/DIALOG.CPP at line 101
Unable to allocate resources for dialog boxes. Windows is low on resources. Abort?

This site can be useful for Great Battles users (even non-GBCE versions):

Thanks - I found that today, including a specific mention of my exact problem - when I get home from work I'll try it. Mine isn't the Collected Edition, it's 3 individual CDs.

EDIT: It works, but not perfectly. Playable, though...

All 3 games (despite DOS being mentioned on the Alexander CD) are firmly Windows games, I couldn't find a single executable file that worked in DOSbox. They all do work now, Alexander, being the earliest one, is just a bit quirky.
