I've used Cakewalk Professional v3.01 ( http://www.queststudios.com/roland/utilities.html ) for over a decade and a half, and still use it even today as my primary/sole MIDI sequencer.

Although quite trivial I suppose, something that always drove me nutz when running CWP under Windows 9x or Windows XP (verses running it under Windows 3.x from back in the day), was the way that W9x (or higher) displayed the little icons at the bottom of the screen. Check the two screenshots attached to this message; one is CWP running under W31 (and is how the icons *should* appear), and the other is how it looks under W9x/WXP.

Any idea as to why that the newer versions of Windows display those icons like that? Any possible hack/fix that could force them to look like they do when running CWP under Windows 3.x?

Like I said, trivial, but I'd sure like to see/use CWP like it's supposed to look <grin> 😀
