I've managed to get POD Gold installed, and mostly running fine. The only issue is that the sound fx (engine noises, etc) are all crackly (kind of like if you run some games without VDMSound.)

I've looked around on the web and cant find anyone else who seems to have this issue, so i'm hoping someone here can help me as it makes the game unplayable. And no I cant just turn them off as the soundfx option in the options menu isnt clickable.

As for system specs, i'm on Windows 7 Home Premium.

Graphics is a NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT, Sound is OnBoard (don't know how to get more info on that.) 4906MB RAM (About 4 GB in total, though Windows only useses about 2-3), AMD Athlon 64 X2 Duel Core Processor 5200+(2CPUs) ~2.7GHz.

Have you installed the Pentium 4/AMD Athlon patch?

Yes as its the only way I could get the game to load up.

Update your sound drivers if they're not already updated. You may wish to try downloading Microsoft ACT 5.5 and creating a custom compatibility profile for the game using the flag "SingleProcAffinity".
